Would you like to help out with a Youth Leadership Program in Hampton Park?
Toastmasters new to Youth Leadership, or people who already know how rewarding it is, are welcome to participate.
The Program will take place at River Gum Primary School, in Fordham Road, Hampton Park, Victoria. There will be ten Year 5s from River Gum and ten Year 7s from Hampton Park Secondary College, which is just across Fordham Road. The two schools are very keen – and committed, which is more important. I can attest to that, having been involved with Youth Leadership Programs there for five or so years now.
Session times are 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, on alternating Wednesdays and Thursdays. Specific days and dates are: Wednesday 18 Oct, Thursday 26 Oct, Wednesday 1 Nov, Thursday 9 Nov, Wednesday 15 Nov, Thursday 23 Nov, Wednesday 29 Nov and Thursday 7 Dec.
Yes, it’s complicated. However we are trying alternate days this year so that students don’t miss specialist classes for practically the whole fourth term.
At least two assistants are needed. Three or even four would be even better, so that if need be we could divide up attendance according to the days that suit.
The schools are ready, the students are ready, I’m ready, now we would love to get some more Toastmasters on board. Even if you can only commit to some sessions, that would be all right.
