The mayor of Port Phillip, Bernadene Voss, recently paid a visit to Toastmasters.
Port Melbourne had been running a Speechcraft course and had put an invite out to the mayor’s office for her to attend. Fortunately, Bernadene was looking to make contact with more community groups in the area and was happy to attend.
She gave a presentation on the importance of leadership, saying its all about, ‘leaning in, putting your best foot forward, and sometimes you need to fake it till you make it’. 
Excellent advice from someone who knows!
She said she, ‘loves getting around to community groups’. Also that, ‘communities are all about connections’. Wise words! There was also a presentation made of Toastmasters pens to Bernadene and the other Councillors.
We’re fairly certain that they’ve never received such a unique gift!
